Just back from holiday, having been away for almost a month.
Wath Kennels looked after our blind and deaf 13 year old Springer Spaniel Jilly, who had never been in a kennel since we bought her from a breeder 12 years ago.
We would like to thank the girls at the kennels for all the care and attention they gave to Jilly and for administering to her the various medications she requires. They went the extra mile in that all her bedding which we provided, had been washed and cleaned when we went to pick her up yesterday. We were obviously anxious that we had to leave her in the care of someone else who we did not know, but were given the reassurance that she would be well looked after. Thank you girls for all your care and attention, rest assured that we will be bringing Jilly back to you the next time we go on holiday.
Thank you so much,
Carol and Derek Finney

“I have had the pleasure of knowing Gill for many years now and she has looked after my two cats in their own home numerous times whenever I have been away. Gill is a godsend and her care for my cats is beyond comparison. I had many cat-sitters in the past, but Gill exceeds them all in her dedication, attention to detail, love of animals, reliability and diligence. My cats are extremely shy and do not take to anybody easily, but have grown fond of Gill easily and were completely stress free and happy on my return every time. Gill had adapted with ease to any unforeseen circumstances and problems and has been extremely flexible and supportive keeping me updated every day while I was away.

I can trust Gill 100% and have no hesitation to warmly recommend her to any future customers who require reliable, dedicated and loving care for their pets and I am deeply grateful for all the hard work and support I had from Gill so far.”

“Gill has been cat sitting for me for a year now. I was quite nervous at first, the thought of leaving my 2 indoor Persian cats with a stranger. But I was so wrong to worry, Gill was a hit from the word go. Both cats sniffed around for a bit, but neither seemed nervous.

I came back from holiday to 2 happy cats. I was happy that I’d let them stay at the house, they seemed very relaxed. Whenever I go away Gill texts me to let me know how the cats are, she really seems to care about them. Since the first time she looked after them, the cats now go straight to her when she comes in the house.

I would definitely recommend her services.”

This is a recent article from a local newspaper written by a very happy customer from Wombwell, Barnsley.

First Class Treatment:

“I am a regular reader of the Weekender, particularly the reader’s letters and views section. I am a regular customer at Wath Boarding Kennels with my two dogs, Benson a Staffordshire bull terrier ( rescue) and Bertie the Border terrier.

I would just like to say a big thank you to the kennel’s owner and staff for their keen eyed attention to detail that saved the life of our Border terrier Bertie.

We had kennelled them for ten days whilst we were abroad and both dogs had been healthy on admission to the kennels. Both the dogs and the regular team of staff are always happy to see each other and we have always been happy to leave them there.

However their quality of care and , experience and general attention to detail was soon to be tested as Bertie developed a very quick acting blood disease, where his red blood cells turned rogue and began to kill each other off.

The staff, who are well trained and experienced dog owners and breeders, constantly check and monitor all daily actions and behaviour of each dog, especially during feeding, cleaning and exercising periods.

It was this attention to detail that spotted Bertie’s potential fatal blood disorder, and I seriously doubt that I could have spotted it as quickly as they did.

Their immediate hospitalisation of Bertie gave him the best chance of recovery and the vet said the outcome was uncertain.

Gill, the owner contacted us immediately and gave us a full update on his condition and treatment. This was one of many calls and texts we received whilst Bertie was being treated.
In addition, Benson who we knew would suffer from separation anxiety had been moved to a kennel closer to all the staff and customers coming and going to keep him occupied and distracted. He was also given VIP attention and lots of treats.

It was difficult to hear the initial news but it was important to know straight away and  Gill did the right thing for us.

We did need to know immediately although it then leaves you shocked and worried and feeling guilty at not being there. I can honestly say that after the initial shock sank in we felt that both dogs couldn’t be in a better place and had complete faith in Arncliffe Vets and Wath Kennels to continue the care.

This is the first time either dogs had been poorly in kennels and this reinforced our faith, loyalty and trust.

Bertie is now back to good health, still on some medication, we are all happy and only facing a moderate vet bill. I am sure the vet bill would have been substantially higher if Bertie’s condition  wasn’t caught early.

I’m so glad we found this kennel when we moved five years ago.”
